| cursed | You levitate for 10 to 149 (more) turns. You lose any ability to land at will. |
Dipping items into this potions (except alchemy) has no effect in vanilla Nethack; in particular, it does not make things lighter.

[edit] Identification
This potion self-identifies only if it causes you to start levitating.
[edit] Strategy
See levitation for details on levitating.
This potion is used in alchemy to create potions of gain level, but is otherwise a prime candidate for dilution or cancellation, as you rarely need more than one, if any. Its effect is usually considered harmful: although levitation can be useful, it can also be deadly when you don't have precise control over when the levitation stops. The ring of levitation is an entirely superior option.
