If a monster is standing on a < and you're standing on the corresponding >, will items thrown down the stairs have a chance to harm the monster?

Wizard mode: wish for lava while standing on stairs, then zap it with wand of cold. The stairs still function, but you can't see them unless you : while on them or step on with another item. Is there anyway to make them visible again? Aeronflux 23:43, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
